Creamy Zara Lipstick & Other Best Beauty Products This Month

Lipsticks
From retinol you can use in the morning to lipsticks that won’t dry out your lips, we bring you the lowdown on the latest products that we’ve been loving this month

Every month we bring you the lowdown on the latest products and trends that we’ve been loving. From buzzy launches like the just dropped creamy lipstick from the new make-up collection from Zara to new discoveries, these are the best of what has come across our beauty desk this month.

Lipstick without the dryness: Zara Stiletto Demi-Matte Lipstick, £9.99

Zara joined a long tradition of fashion labels with a make-up line when it launched its beauty collection a few weeks ago. Developed by make-up artist Diane Kendal with very chic packaging designed by Fabien Baron, the collection is affordable and refillable without sacrificing any style.

One of the highlights of the line is the Stiletto Demi-Matte Lipstick. Despite the word “matte” in the name, these lipsticks are creamy and comfortable and don’t feel drying at all – making them perfect for dry midlife lips. Coming in 10 wearable shades, there is something for everyone and the thin shape of the product makes it super easy to apply with precision.

We’re also loving the new Glossier Ultralip (£14), another tinted lip balm described as “the cashmere sweatpants of lipstick”. Sheer and glossy, the formula contains hyaluronic acid to help your lips retain moisture and stay hydrated.

For summer skin: Nécessaire The Body Oil, $35

It’s getting warmer and our limbs are finally emerging out from the depths of sweaters and tights. With menopause and the hormonal changes that come with it, skin often becomes drier not just on your face but on your body as well.

Keep your arms and legs moisturised with the new body oil from Nécessaire. A nutrient-rich plant oil containing vitamins B, C and E as well as Omega-6, 7 and 9, the oil will restore, nourish and soften skin. And it won’t leave you feeling greasy or sticky. Meanwhile the chic packaging and velvety texture will turn a routine activity into a decadent ritual.

If oil isn’t for you, Nécessaire also has a range of other body products including body lotion ($25) and body serum ($45). Or try Sol de Janeiro’s latest launch Bom Dia Bright Body Cream (£44). A moisture-rich, gently exfoliating cream, it contains fruit AHAs and vitamin C which work to brighten and smooth your skin for an even-toned, soft and healthy glow.

The daytime retinol: Sarah Chapman Skinesis Icon Day, £92

Retinol is the gold standard for anti-ageing ingredients, scientifically proven to improve wrinkles and fine lines and erase sun damage. Since retinol makes your skin more sensitive to UV rays, however, it is usually recommended that you use it as part of your night routine rather than in the morning. But now Sarah Chapman has developed a version of her popular retinol cream that is designed to use during the day.

Combining two potent forms of vitamin A with peptides, hyaluronic hydrators and SPF, Icon Day works to lift, smooth and firm the skin while boosting brightness and reducing redness. Because the retinol is encapsulated, it releases slowly, making this product great for anyone with sensitive skin who have had previous reactions to retinol.
