The only UK menopause clinic to be rated "Outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission, Hylda's health partner My Menopause Centre offers expert advice and personalised care by phone or video. Read on to find out how its medical team can help you with your menopause symptoms.

Many of our readers in the UK will know the frustrations of getting menopause support from their NHS GP. Some GPs are wonderful, others less so, which is why we are often asked, “how much does it cost to see a private menopause specialist?” and “Can you pay privately for HRT?”.

How much does it cost to see a private menopause specialist?

How to book a private menopause appointment?

Meet the My Menopause Centre team of menopause expert doctors.

If you are choosing to go the private route, our health partner, My Menopause Centre, is an online clinic (with an in-person clinic at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate) whose doctors are highly experienced menopause experts. The only menopause clinic rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission, it offers expert evidence-based advice and personalised care, by phone or video, for all stages of the menopause transition – perimenopause, menopause and post menopause. This includes surgical and medical menopause and premature ovarian insufficiency (POI).

Can you self refer to a menopause clinic?

You don’t need a GP referral to book your My Menopause Centre appointment, you can do it yourself. Your first consultation, by phone or video, is 45 minutes long, covering your medical history and your symptoms. The doctor will discuss any necessary tests and talk you through a range of evidence-based treatment options.

You are given a personalised holistic menopause treatment plan.

The fee for your first consultation also includes two follow up emails within two months of your consultation, if you have questions about your treatment plan.

You then have a follow up consultation, usually three months later. This is for 25 minutes and is a check on your progress.

How much does HRT cost for menopause?

If your My Menopause Centre doctor recommends HRT as part of your treatment options, then the costs will vary, depending on the type of medication prescribed and the dosage. You can discuss this in your appointment. Importantly, My Menopause Centre only prescribes bioidentical HRT (as does the NHS), not the unregulated compounded HRT that some private clinics offer.

How much does it cost to see a private menopause specialist?

Your first 45-minute phone or video consultation costs £290, and covers evidence-based menopause advice and a holistic, personalised care plan. Every woman’s menopause is different, and every woman needs a range of solutions put together just for her.
