My Midlife Survival Kit: Elle Macpherson

The supermodel and wellness entrepreneur shares the things that keep her sane and happy in midlife.

Who hasn’t heard of Elle Macpherson? Famous for decades for her modelling career, Elle proved that midlife wasn’t going to slow her down, launching nutritional brand WelleCo on her 50th birthday in 2014.

The business was inspired by Elle’s nutritional doctor Dr Simone Laubscher, who had created an alkalising green powder.

“Helping Elle with her wellness journey is how I became involved with WelleCo, at the grassroots,” writes Dr Laubscher. “Elle remarked that she didn’t want to take my Rejuv capsules and asked me to formulate a complete wellness elixir in powdered form that she could just mix in water each day, this is how The Super Elixir was born!

“I am still the formulator for WelleCo and business partners with Elle in WelleCo and continue to help create more supplements to add to the healing WelleCo collection.”

It’s no surprise that WelleCo’s Goddess Elixir is top of the list in Elle’s Midlife Survival Kit. But her other choices of things that keep her sane and happy in midlife are far more surprising. Guitar plectrums… An Infrared sauna…

Over to Elle Macpherson – her Survival Kit choices and why she loves them, are not what you’re expecting.

WelleCo The Goddess Elixir, £35

The Goddess Elixir

There’s a kind of liberation in menopause; a freedom from cyclic responsibilities and uncertainties. We formulated The Goddess Elixir with 16 powerful, all-natural ingredients to help provide support through all stages of this journey.

The ingredients include red clover, which helps to lower menopause symptoms such hot flushes and night sweats; vitex, which helps relieve common symptoms of premenstrual tension, such as irritability, tension and bloating; and magnesium, to assist with absorption while also support mental concentration, focus and clarity and emotional balance.

Safesleeve Anti-Radiation Case for iPhone, Euros 60.43

Safesleeve Anti-Radiation Case

Anyone who knows me will know that I am big on reducing EMF (electric and magnetic fields) and have been for a long time.

I use a Safesleeve to reduce the radiation inherent in these devices. It manages to block over 99% which is reassuring. It also helps that it has a handy little card slot and can be closed while simultaneously talking on the phone.

Therasage Portable InfraRed Sauna, $1197

Therasage Portable InfraRed Sauna

To say I’m obsessed with my portable Therasage sauna is a bit of an understatement. I’m in it regularly, ideally nightly, for toxin release.

It has helped me in other ways too, including boosting collagen, reducing inflammation and giving me those glorious serotonin feels that come with infrared light.

I usually follow it with a cold plunge because it’s brilliant for lymph and immune systems. I learnt a lot more about this just recently at a recent Wim Hof retreat in Surrey.
